Microsoft and Yahoo are to announce a deal to make their instant messaging service compatible with each other.
That move will cut into AOL's share of the Instant Messaging (IM) pie.
The deal is to be announced today. This move would be a first. Why? Because it allows users using competing instant messengers to exchange messages themselves.
The merge would mean that MSN/Yahoo users would be about the same people using AOL.
